Archaeology does it again! In the Elah Valley Israeli archaeologists have verified the discovery of the village of Khirbet Qeiyafa as the ancient site where David, the young shepherd boy, prepared to enter the valley and battle the Philistine giant, Goliath.
“I can’t ignore the biblical text and I cannot ignore archaeology,” says Professor Yosef Garfinkle, professor at Hebrew University and leader of the Khirbet Qeiyafa dig. Proof of life and events just as scripture describes them are right here in the archaeological discoveries. This link takes you to a clip of this important dig site.
Archaeology has proven the existence of King David, Pontius Pilate, and now the story of David and Goliath, all persons and stories thought by some to be Jewish myths until recent evidence was discovered. Enjoy this short clip. (You’ll see the Elah Valley where you have visited or will visit with us during a study trip to Israel.)
