The Temple Institute has been preparing for the next Jewish Temple since 1987. They have priests being trained, red hefers being raised, garments created, all in the anticipation of a third Jewish temple. There is one problem – the Dome of the Rock! This third most holy site of Islam sits where Solomon and Herod’s sanctuaries once stood, and the location of the anticipated third temple. But this has not concerned the Temple Institute. During the recent (2025) Tisha B’Av holy day, they cried, “Enough Talk! Let’s Build”
The Temple Institute is now placing road signs across the country directing travelers to the “House of the Lord of Hosts.” These are not official government road signs, but do suggest that a movement I was introduced to thirty years ago as radicals on the social fringe of society may now receive more attention and credibility than many would like.
