Description
Discarded! …like a candy wrapper or soda can.
Babies are not one’s personal trash to be discarded at will. Babies have value, if not to those that birth them, at least to the baby itself. Babies are born with individual personalities, special talents, and abilities to achieve much in life.
The modern Children’s Protective Services Foster Care System had not yet been created and the legalization of abortion had not been established. The county children’s home was the only place for a discarded infant.
No mother to hold me. No father to delight in his newborn son. No grandpa or grandma to make over their newest grandbaby. No siblings. No aunts or uncles. No cousins. I was left in the care of low-paid staff at a local government facility…forgotten by everyone that should have cared.
Names have value. They provide identity. They hold powerful meanings. They associate people with certain ideals. Names reflect the totality of who a person is. Names exhibit strength and respect. They indicate purpose. Names are important. I had no name.
I was an infant discarded from all that gave meaning to life. No parents. No home. No name.
But God in his generosity of grace had a plan.
